Ballyclare lose out to Premier Ports

Ballyclare 1st XI lost 3-1 to Premier League side Portadown in a friendly on Saturday (September 6).

The Ports scored all three goals in the first half, keeping the Ballyclare back line stretched.

n Ballyclare High School’s Zoe Wilson was part of the Ulster squad which claimed silver in the UK School Games at the weekend.

n Meanwhile, the Rashee Road school’s senior teams began the season strongly against Regent House, with the both the 1st XI and 2A XI securing 2-0 and 4-0 wins respectively.

The 2B XI also won 1-0.

The U15 XI won 2-0, with goals from Emily Walker and Megan Tumelty. Megan was also awarded ‘Player of the Match’, along with Katie Taylor.

The U14A XI kicked off their season with a resounding 7-1 success, while the U14B XI secured a 3-0 win, with goals from Anna Boyd, Chloe Den Haese and Sian Dinnen. Anna Boyd was awarded ‘Player of the Match’.

The U13A XI went into the half-time interval level at 0-0 but Ballyclare pressure paid off in the second session when Alanna Kerr scored the winner for the High School.
