Ballyclare’s All-Ireland League hopes vanish

Ballyclare Rugby Club’s lingering hopes of booking their place in next season’s All-Ireland Junior Cup vanished at the weekend, when Dromore picked up a losing bonus-point from their Qualifying 1 clash with CIYMS.

Dromore and Robert Boyd’s lads had been battling it out for the coveted fourth spot finish that would have been the ticket for the cup, but the County Down lads have prevailed.

It means Saturday’s PortadownBallyclare fixture at Chambers Park is a play-off for fifth position. The only other club team in action this weekend will be the 2nd XV who have a Junior 1 encounter at home to Omagh II.
