Ballyhegan lost out by 0-8 to 0-12 from the home clash with Keady despite a bright start that featured Rory McKeever on the scoresheet.

Early pressure failed to produce the desired end product and Keady regrouped to register points.

Conal McKeever’s free sparked a period of flowing play which included points for both sides and an acrobatic save by Johnny McKeever.

Conal McKeever increased his personal tally but Ballyhegan hit half-time down by 0-4 to 0-7.

Shane McCormack picked out Conal McKeever for the first positive of the second half ahead of resolute defensive play by Johnny McKeever and Roger McCormick.

Conal McKeever, Tim Rafferty and Paul Nixon posted points. Nixon’s attempt proved the highlight for Ballyhegan due to a five-player move involving Johnny McKeever, Mark Hughes, Barry Morgan and Shane McKeever.
