Ballymena and Antrim club make flying start to 2015

Ballymena & Antrim Athletic Club have got off to a fast pace in 2015 at the NI and Ulster Indoor Age Group Championships in Meadowbank Arena, Magherafelt recently.

Despite the cold conditions inside and out, BAAC athletes were on fire. A staggering 29 medals were won over a selection of 23 events; 4 Ulster champions, 1 double Ulster champion, 1 triple Ulster champion and 1 relay champion, a total of 10 gold, 12 silver and 7 bronze medals.

All of these medallists qualify for the Irish Indoor Championships to be held on the weekend of 21st/22nd March at the fantastic facilities of AIT International Arena in Athlone.

The club are ecstatic at the medal tally so early in the season and coaches and athletes are excited for what the rest of the season holds.

The club coaches are delighted at the range of disciplines BAAC athletes were represented in and would like to invite any young person interested in any part of athletics, running, jumping, throwing to come along on a Thursday night to Antrim Forum track at 6.30pm to give it a go.
