The teams formed up at 10am at Eaton Park and after a quick warm up, games for both over and under 12s kicked off.

The Bears, Portadown Panthers, Newforge Taggers, Donaghadee Sharkies and Killard Cougars all took part in what was the biggest display of domestic special needs tag rugby to date. Each team got the chance to shine and along with some great big beaming smiles the rain didn’t stick around for long.

Amongst the spectators was everyone’s special Ulster bear; Sparky, who was in demand all morning for photographs and waves.

After the fun of playing it was in to the clubhouse for hot dogs care of Montgomery’s cafe and crisps from Tayto.

Great fun and new friendships formed there is definitely only blue sky ahead for Ulster special needs rugby.
