Ballymena hosts big end-of-season swim competition

FOLLOWING the successful Provincial Towns Swimming Association League time trials hosted by Ballymena Swimming Club in March this year, the Ballymena Club are proud to host the final event of the PTL season this Saturday, April 24, at 5.30pm.

The event is the highlight of the PTL season with individual qualified swimmers from the various clubs coming together to form two teams (Blue and White) to compete in an exhilarating final.

The Blue team will be represented by Strule Dolphins, Cookstown, Swilly Seals, Coleraine, Ballymoney, Limavady and Dungannon who will combine to form one team to compete against the swimmers selected from Leander, Lecale, Portadown, Banbridge, Larne and Ballymena, the White team.

Ballymena Club are represented by Roisin Ferris, Rachel Reid, Katie Morrow, Oonagh O'Neill, Suzannah Brown, Claire O'Neill, Hannah McCormick Deirdre O'Kane and Aoife McCann and boys Matthew Robinson, Peter Meehan, Jack Higgins and Chris Best.

The Club is delighted to have such significant numbers of swimmers qualified to compete in this week’s final, many who will be competing for the first time.

This proves to be a very entertaining night with not only some of Ballymena’s potential Ulster stars of the future but a feast of talent from right across the province.

The evening concludes with refreshments and the presentation of trophies for the 2009-2010 season.
