Ballymena under-10s unbeaten in Dublin event

Ballymena Rugby Club's U10 squad travelled to Dublin recently to play in the '˜Battle of Clontarf' Festival.

Recognised as one of the toughest festivals in Dublin, the squad participated in both U10 and playing up to the U11 year groups.

The U10 (06 birthdays) team played matches against Clontarf, Garryowen, De La Salle and Naas, whilst the U11 (05 birthdays) played Blackrock, Seapoint, Clontarf and Suttonians.

Skill, passion, determination and teamwork resulted in many well worked tries meaning they returned to Eaton Park unbeaten.

The squad will be travelling later in the month to the national London Irish competition.

The under-10 panel was: Robbie Coleman, Callum Irvine, Ben Robinson, Corey McKillop, Deon Fleming, Scott Ritchie, Josh McClung, Josh Dobbin.

The under-11 panel was made up of: Alexander Carson, Hayden Smith, Jude Osborne, Stephen McCamphill, Noah Killen, Daniel Vercoe-Rogers, Tom Coulter, Henry Casson, Callum Mustoe, Reece Williamson, Harry Harbison, Conan Scullion, Will Alexander.

Meanwhile, at senior level, Ballymena Rugby Club clinched the Soni Ulster Championship title in style last week with a 69-0 win over City of Derry - a boost for the Braidmen ahead of their forthcoming All-Ireland League Division 1B play-off against Dublin University later this month.
