Ballymoney and Coleraine District snooker league

THE break-off got underway in the McAtamneys-sponsored Ballymoney and Coleraine District snooker league last Thursday.

The Drones A took all six points against Triangle Hawks but this wasn’t as easy a win as the score suggests with Hawks players Don Leighton, who should have won one of the two frames, against David Baker.

The same applies to Carl Wilson against Gregory Cooke with Paul Simpson gaining a comfortable win against Walter Purcell.

It was a good evening for Ballymoney All Stars when they hosted Dunloy United with a five frames to one win although there were some tight frames.

It was Leonard McConaghie who got the ball rolling beating Randall McDonnell in straight frames.

This was followed by an in form Danny (Dixie) Tweed who accounted for Martin Crawley by the same margin while Johnnie McCook took a valuable point against Connor Cunning.

This was a great start for the young Triangle B when they held the much fancied Triangle A to a draw.

The man of the match was Chris Boreland beating Mark Hutchinson, winning both frames.

It was Colin Sweeney who levelled the match beating S. Nesbitt by two frames to nil.

The final game saw William Boreland getting a good point against A. Boreland - a fair result for both teams.
