Powerhouses for the Ballymoney Cycling Club Biesty’s Centra Race Team were Steven McAllister who set a fastest ever Personal Best time of 3 hours 47. 25, Mervyn Linton who also clocked up a personal best time of 3hrs 52 22. However, the sensation of the day, setting a first ever Junior 100 mile All Ireland 100 mile TT record was Stuart Laverty in just over 4 hours.

The three Ballymoney lads returned an average time of almost 26 miles per hour and to put this into perspective, many local leisure cyclists and wannabee racers do 50 and 60 mile runs averaging 20 miles per hour. Steven McAllister notched up a 26.5mph average, Mervyn Linton did 25.8 mph and 18 year old flying junior Stuart Laverty did 24.7 mph for the arduos 100 mile trial.
