Ballymoney Cycling Club invite you to join them in 2013

Club Membership Registration Evenings 15th and 16th Jan 2013

Ballymoney Cycling Club are probably the most successful cycling club this area has ever seen, they were voted Cycling Ulster “Club of the Year” from 40 other clubs, were runners up as the Best Cycling Club in Ireland in 2011. Their talented racing team riders have stacked up dozens if wins at national open races, winning gold, silver and bronze medals at national championship events, controlling and winning interclub and local races, showing that hard work and good training techniques pay off.

SportNI to provide bikes, tandems and equipment for the disabled, and in the gymnasium at the school the club has a high technology

training and testing suite that is used 6 days a week.

The Ballymoney Club are the first club in Ireland to have these types of facilities available to its members.

Cycling in Ballymoney enjoyed the type of exposure on BBC television that sponsors love, the club was their “Feature” subject on BBC Newsline being

seen by tens of thousands of viewers.

Growth in membership from 2011 to 2012 saw the club grow from 44 to the current 62 members, and with the popularity of cycling being brought to the forefront by Tour de France and Olympic gold medallist sports personality for 2012 Sir Bradley Wiggins. It is an exciting times for local cyclists and those of you out there who would love to give it a try!

In the “Cycling for everyone” policy the Health and Leisure riders at Ballymoney CC have cycled thousands and thousands

of miles for good causes, making voluntary donations to Meningitis Research, NI Children’s Heartbeat Trust, CHEERS Youth club, Breathe Easy and the British Lung Foundation the Community Rescue services. Every penny collected was rounded up by the club’s experienced treasurer Colin Thompson and presented to the Charities, these presentations have been extensively covered by the local newspapers and on the club’s website, www.ballymoneycyclingclub.com.

If you would like to just go out for a casual cycle with other cyclists, take part in some challenges for good causes and along with those of you who want to be the next Bradley Wiggins, nows your chance! Ballymoney Cycling Club are holding two Information and Registration Evenings at Ballymoney Rugby Club on Tuesday 15th January from 8.00pm to 10.00pm and then on Wednesday evening (16th) from 6pm to 8pm,you can come along to the Testing and Training facility at Dalriada and see what actually goes on there, get your questions answered and if still interested become a member of Ballymoney Cycling Club.

Ballymoney Cycling Club race secretary William Loughridge a former schoolboy champion, has made it a priority to build on the good work already done by the club and encourage more young cyclists to join the ranks of the youth team and get involved in the sport from an early age.

Attention - It is time to stop making excuses and start taking charge of your health, by getting “On yer bikes in 2013”!
