Ballymoney ladies on Route 66!

Ballymoney Ladies 1st XV 66 – 0 Malone Ladies 1st XV

WITH With a 26 – 7 win in their last away match to Carrick a fortnight ago, the Ballymoney Ladies rugby team made it two on the bounce on Sunday with a home win against a newly formed, young and quite inexperienced Malone side.

Tries from Julie Newton, Samantha Hickinson, Emma Elliott, and Laura Dooey, with accompanying conversions from Vicky Wade and Emma McCauley saw the Toon Ladies take a comfortable win.

“Yes, the match was a little one sided, but Malone should not get disheartened. They are a young squad, and with time and patience, training and effort they will become fitter, faster, stronger, and better,” said a spokesperson for the Ballymoney Ladies.

The spokesperson added: “Malone did show signs of some good continuity and ball retention toward the end of the match, and they should go away by reflecting and building on this. I would also like to thank the Malone Ladies for fielding a team, and would encourage them to continue with their progress.”

Ballymoney Team: Emma McCauley, Andrea Barkley, Julie Newton, Julie Greene, Jenni Lindsay, Vicky Wade, Gill Powell(c), Samantha Hickinson, Samara McAlister, Claire Graham, Laura Dooey, Emma Elliott.
