Ballymoney Ornithological Association results

Ballymoney Ornitholoical Association held their 78th Annual Open Show on Saturday, 8 November.

Once again this proved to be a huge success with exhibitors coming from across Northern Ireland and also many from various parts of the Republic of Ireland. The exhibits were judged by a panel of judges from Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, Scotland and England. In total 1,206 birds were on exhibition.

Awards were presented by Mrs I Barkley wife of Club President Mr S Barkley. Miss Katie Donnelly presented Mrs Barkley with a gift in appreciation of her work for the Association.

The Association wishes to thank Ballymoney Borough Council for their generous grant, St. James’s Presbyterian Church for the use of the Church Hall and to anyone who made donations. Also a big thank you to the exhibitors and judges, many of whom travelled long distances to be there.

Mr J Hill, Secretary would like to thank the committee for all their hard work in preparation for the Show and also on the day of the Show, to Jackie and Julie-Anne for ensuring that all the exhibitors received a welcome cup of tea on the Friday night and a hearty lunch on Saturday and to the stewards and various individuals who assisted with the administrative duties. Your help is very much appreciated.
