Ulster Age Group and Youth Championships in Bangor is a three day event which ran from Friday, April 8th to Sunday 10th and is a long course so times are slower than short course.

A spokesperson explained: “This is the highest Ulster gala you can get and swimmers can only enter events they have achieved a qualifying time for (tighter than the quali gala’s). Some swimmers from Leinster also entered, but they didn’t count for Ulster medals and though they were mega fast, only two were allowed in any final. They received different commerative medals.

“Well done to Ballymoney swimmers!”
