Ballyrashane Milk Run 5 Mile Road Race & Fun Run

Ballymoney Sports Development Unit and Springwell Running Club are delighted to announce that Ballyrashane Creameries as their new sponsor’s for this year’s annual road race and fun run which will take place at the Joey Dunlop Leisure Centre on the 25 July 2014.

Both parties our indebted to Ballyrashane for coming on board with financial assistance and they both would like to thank Ballyrashane Creameries for supporting this prestigious event.

The 5 mile road race will begin on Friday 25th July 2014 at 7.30pm with a whopping 20 individual categories incorporated into the main race this year.

‘This year promises to be the best event yet with categories for everyone and prizes the whole way down the field, so there is no excuse not to turn up and give it a go’. commented Sports Development Manager John Fall.

The full list of categories are as follows: open male and female: Veterans sections for males and females at over 35, over 40, over 45, over 50, over 55, over 60, and over 65 : Junior race for male and female and finally wheelchair race for male and females.

The race has attracted great numbers in past years with 175 finishers in 2013 and this year should be no different with enquiries already received from all over the province.

Prior to the main event, the children’s fun run will take place at 6.15pm again at the Joey Dunlop Leisure Centre. The race will take place in the grounds of the centre and is open to anyone aged 8-14.

Please not that entry costs £3-00 per child and NO entries will be accepted without a Parental/Guardian consent form being completed.

‘This is the 8th year of the children’s event and I would encourage all children from the Borough to come along and take part. Every child will receive a medal for competing’ commented John Fall.

Parents must remember that consent forms are compulsory and must be signed on the night or prior. No form, no run, with no exceptions at all’

‘Preparation for the main races is going really smoothly this year and I am delighted to continue our excellent partnership Ballymoney Borough Council’s Sports Development Unit. Their input is invaluable to ensure the event is a success. Hopefully we will top the 200 mark in entries this year and who knows maybe see the course record fall in one of the events. This year’s entry fee is: £10-00 for registered ANI members , £11.00 for non registered ANI members,.Any Entry received after Monday 21st July 2014 will have a £1 late entry fee. Fun Run £3
