Ballyvally archers beat the chill

Snow and wintery conditions did not prevent members of Ballyvally Archery Club shooting in their traditional annual Snowdrop tournament.

Over 40 archers turned out from the club and other invited clubs to enjoy an unexpected two days of shooting in close to ideal conditions.

The much threatened wind, freezing temperatures and snow did not materialize during the event, much to their relief. Even the cubs Taylor Barlow, who is just seven years old, and Helen Houston, only 11 years old, had a very enjoyable day.

TOP COACHING THIS WEEK IN BALLYVALLY

This weekend, Ballyvally archers will benefit from top international coaching.

Maggie Squires, a top GB coach aided by Peter Mulligan and Mark Nesbitt, both winning International archers with the GB team will be present to give advice to approximately 40-50 club archers. There are still a few spaces left for any interested members, especially on Monday morning.

BALLYVALLY CLUB PRESENTATION NIGHT

The Ballyvally club prize night for all club members will take place on Friday 30th January 2015 in the Iveagh Suite of the Belmont Hotel.

At the night all juniors will receive their Achievement badges and the major awards for the leagues etc will be awarded. The club committee would ask any archers who received a trophy in 2014 to please return it ASAP.

BEGINNERS ARCHERY

With the Christmas holidays over and with the new year’s INDOOR archery started last week, beginners who would like to have a go at a very ancient sport are welcome to come to any of the eight sessions organised by the club every Wednesday and Thursday in Banbridge Leisure Centre.
