This was a Handicap Cup match where every point was vital. No quarters were to be given or expected by either team.

The visitors, Annahilt A, understood the challenge and came fully focused on the task by fielding a very strong team with Kyle Graham, Ian Sinclaire, Geoffrey Beattie and Callum Rainey.

The Banbridge C Team Captained by Emma Wylie, comprised Matthew McClimonds, Ben McMillen, and Nicole Larmour.

Nicole was a last minute replacement, playing in what was her first Junior Team League match.

The younger Banbridge players are members of the Table Tennis Ulster Regional Development Squad, and the Ulster Futures Squad.

The result of handicap matches is always in doubt, and the Annahilt team had all to do to try to reduce the points advantage.

This was an entertaining encounter as both teams contested every point with vigour, providing some excellent table tennis for spectators.

When the match finished, only one point separated the two teams.

Banbridge 517 to Annahilt 516. Very hard luck to Annahilt A, but well done to Banbridge for fighting for every point and a great team effort.
