Bann 3s surrender lead but hold unbeaten run

Banbridge Thirds continued their unbeaten league campaign on Saturday with a 3-3 draw against Annadale Thirds.

Bann were left feeling they should have taken all three points as Annadale came from 3-1 behind to earn a point.

As Bann managed to get a handle of the game, they found themselves a goal down when a bouncing ball into the circle was finished well by an Annadale forward from close range.

It didn’t take Bann long to get back into the game and after good work from James Brown, Robbie Scott was on hand to finish well.

Bann then had a couple of short corners and after trying a couple of options off the top of the circle, a variation to Robbie Scott was converted to put Bann ahead. Bann were in control at that stage and should have increased their lead further.

Into the second half, Bann managed to increase their lead when Brown went on an excellent run and after rounding the keeper fired the ball in.

Bann continued to press forward but Annadale were looking dangerous on the counter attack and pulled a goal back when a cross from the right side was picked up too easily in the circle and the Annadale forward gave Andy Adair no chance from 10 yards.

Annadale were in the ascendency and with only five minutes left, they equalised after a first time deflection in midfield allowed a forward to pick the ball up in the Bann 25 and finish well on their reverse stick.

Banbridge Thirds now entertain Instonians Thirds on Friday night at Havelock at 7.45pm.
