Bann attend Mini Rugby in Newry

Banbridge and Ballynahinch rugby clubs have taken part of the first Ulster Mini Rugby Festival supported by Maxol at Newry Rugby Club.

There were two special guests on the day as well, in the form of Ulster Rugby players Paddy Wallace and Chris Henry.

Maxol’s two-year sponsorship deal until 2015 includes 32 Mini Rugby Festivals which are expected to involve more than 4,000 children from over 44 local rugby clubs and 200 rugby-playing primary schools across Ulster.

Speaking at the Newry Mini Rugby Festival, Fergal Harrington, The Maxol Group Brand Development Manager said: “We are delighted to welcome so many young rugby players to the first Mini Rugby Festival supported by Maxol. Our sponsorship with Ulster Mini Rugby really demonstrates our commitment to grassroots rugby”

Mini Rugby is the introductory level of the sport throughout Ulster in which boys and girls from ages six to twelve gain their first taste of the sport and begin to learn the basic skills.
