Bann B fail to impress

Banbridge B 68

Ballymoney 92

BANN B travelled to Ballymoney in the IBA Junior Cup and failed to impress.

After three ends Bann led by seven shots and that was as good as it got. They were behind by the fifth end by five shots and by the 10th game the contest was over as they trailed by 17 shots.

By end 13 that had increased to 25 and despite a brief rally at the 15th end the defecit was 16 shots.

It was still anybody’s game but with only one point scored across the green on the next end and also on the 19th it ended any chance they had.

There were many theories as to how Banbridge lost this game - the green had been watered for three days consecutively even though it had rained and this made the surface very fast which suited Ballymoney’s players. The bottom line was the Bann could have won this game, although the objective of a place high up the league table has not gone away.
