Bann duo get Ulster call-up

Things are looking bright for Banbridge Hockey Club with two of their young players selected as part of the Ulster Under 16 Interprovincial squad.

Kyle Marshall and Jake Rowe will join up with the Ulster Squad for the interprovincial series from Friday 22nd to Sunday 24th November at Mossley Hockey Club.

The promising duo also participated in the Sainsbury’s School Games in September where they secured gold beating Scotland and Wales in Sheffield.

Banbridge Hockey Club President Neil Madeley was delighted at the call-ups: “We’re delighted for the boys to get picked for the Ulster squad. It bodes well for our junior set-up.

“The boys have been training with the senior panel and have the exposure to that senior hockey. They are the next level of players coming through to the senior squad. They’ll be the ones who will take things on after the current squad starts to break up a bit.

“We have a close link with the Academy and Jake’s selection further reflects how good the coaching is at the school. It’s great for a school like Markethill, who aren’t known as a hockey school, too.”
