That followed a disappointing 2-1 defeat on Saturday away to Cork Church of Ireland.

Play in the first quarter was fairly even. Bann upped the tempo in the second quarter and won their first penalty corner in the 16th minute. Stephen Dowds made no mistake with a low hard flick to the keepers left.

Early in the second half the visitors were level when Jodie Hoskins was on hand to score from close in.

It was Bann who settled quicker in the final quarter and deservedly took the lead when following a Matthew Bell overhead pass Owen Magee showed great skill and composure on the bye line to beat the defender and then flick the ball past the on rushing keeper from a near impossible angle. Bann saw out the remainder of the quarter to ensure they will finish this season in third place.
