Barn Runners trio tackle ‘Between the Bridges’ 5k

Mother-to-be, Yvonne McIlree, and club-mates Karen Ditty and Colin Porter ran in the ‘Between the Bridges’ race. This event involved a run along the Westlink in Belfast - all in aid of the Northern Ireland Hospice rebuild at Somerton House.

Over 700 runners took part in the charity event, all receiving a goodie bag and medals at the finish line. Colin Porter crossed the line in an impressive 20:06, and Elaine Ditty and Yvonne McIlree completed the course in 26:24.

Elaine proved a supportive companion to Yvonne, who is still enjoying running to maintain fitness levels during pregnancy.

Seven Barn Runners took part in the annual Lisburn Half Marathon and 10K on Wednesday. In hot conditions, they took on the challenging course which weaves through city.

Barn Runners completed the Half Marathon in the following times: Tony Fitzpatrick (1:46), Barry Wheelwright (1:48), Elaine Ditty (1:59), Shea Hitchen (2:12). 10K times were as follows: Johnny O’Hagan (40:31), Neil Porter (41:40), and Karl Quinn (41:44).
