Basil Knipe Electrics throw weight behind North Antrim Sports Awards

BASIL Knipe Electrics in Ballymoney have become major sponsors of the annual North Antrim Times Sports Awards, the Times can reveal.

Mr. Knipe who runs a very successful business in the town, has thrown his weight behind the awards which are scheduled to take place later this year at Lissanoure Castle, Loughgiel.

Commenting on Mr. Knipe's support, Lyle McMullan, Editor of the Times, said he was delighted that such a prestigious and respected business had joined forces with them.

"Basil Knipe had no hesitation in giving financial support to our awards. He recognises the contribution the Awards make to the promotion of sport in the North Antrim area," Mr. McMullan said.

Mr. Knipe, whose family are keen sports enthusiasts, said he was looking forward to the gala occasion and would ensure that whatever practical assistance he could give would be forthcoming.

The Awards, run in association with Complete Gyms who are the main sponsors, look like being one of the best with competition from all parts of North Antrim keener than ever.

Chris Kilpatrick, Sports Editor of the Times, said deciding on the winners of the various categories would be a tough job.

"There are so many high achievers this year with world champions galore. Others have done remarkably well and it will all add up to a great night at Lissanoure," Mr. Kilpatrick said.
