The battle at the bottom of Section A of the Roy Kennedy Fuels Indoor Bowling League is hotting up following the first two weeks of the New Year.

Obituary

Harry worked tirelessly for three clubs

Harry Magihon, who died earlier this month, was a tireless worker at the three bowling clubs which he belonged to over the years.

He was treasurer at Finaghy Bowling Club, but his association here went much further. I know only too well the work he did in keeping the junior team at the club going in very difficult days.

Several Saturdays he came back to tell me the B team had a full complement after all and that was usually down to Harry’s hard work.

In the short mat game he was secretary at Derryvolgie and he brought several players to keep the club going through difficult times.

Harry was also a treasurer at the Dunmurry Presbyterian Club, who do not play in the League. Again he was a member who did a lot of work.

Unfortunately, Harry was unable to devote the full work to these clubs due to failing health, but he will be remembered for sterling dedication.

To his wife, Esme, and the family circle the bowlers in the local area extend their deepest sympathy.
