Beckett's bang in ten

Becket's Soccer Academy

LEAGUE leaders Beckett’s Soccer Academy Under-13s team got back to action at the weekend in the North West and District Youth League after a six week enforced period of inactivity due to the bad weather.

Beckett’s continued where they had left off previously with a thumping 10-0 victory away to Coagh.

Although much bigger physically, Coagh had no solution to the high-tempo passing game employed by Beckett’s and even the home fans were very complimentary regarding the performance of the young Ballymoney team.

Credit must also go to the Coagh team who although on the receiving end of a heavy defeat continued to compete in a very fair and sporting manner right up until the final whistle.

But Beckett’s - under the very experienced management team of Paul Gaston, Ricky Wade and Mark Freeman - will be particularly pleased with the quality of the goals scored and also no goals conceded , the perfect result in many ways.

Much of the hard work put into the coaching sessions on the training pitch appears to be paying dividends.

This Saturday sees Beckett’s at home to Coleraine, with the likely venue Megaw Park. Kick-off is 11am.
