Beechpark Social AGM and prizegiving

BEECHPARK Social RPS members recently held their Annual General Meeting and prize giving presentation.

This was the first time the club has held their AGM, prize presentation and Christmas show all in the same time.

The top prize winner for 2012 was Kevin Downey who had a fantastic season with ten 1st’s, with the ever consistent Davy Mawhinney and Son close behind. The very popular S and J McCullough were next with Gregory McEvoy just behind. Infact Gregory had the best y/b and joint 2nd best y/b in the mighty NIPA with two nestmates YaYa and Kalo. Chairman C. Reynolds was next up, Roy Bothwell who had the overall best performance of 2012 with Champion Roy’s Delight who won 1st Club, 1st Section E and 1st Open NIPA Fermoy Classic.

With these quality fanciers within the club competition is very competitive. H. Lynch and Son were next with Dando and Bennett, R. Russell, B. Carson and Son, S. Gardiner, D. Percy and Son, C. Beattie, H Hanna and Son and G. Burrell with smaller prizes.

The Two Bird Club prizes saw Davy Mawhinney and Son being top prize winner with nine 1st prizes, Davy was followed by G. McEvoy, R. Bothwell and S. and J. McCullough who was followed by the rest of the members with smaller amounts. The Christmas Show which had a full house, with 156 entries were judged by M. Livingstone and M. Hagan from Portadown, J. Carson and G. McMullen from Corcreeney.

Mawhinney and Son, HC C. Reynolds C R. Russell special best y/b G McEvoy. The Best in Show and the Best Opp Sex was won By G. McEvoy who had a wonderful show, there was a fantastic array of prizes for every carded pigeon, Malcolm Livingstone the NIPA vice president on behalf of the judges spoke very highly of the quality of birds on show, he also congratulated the members on their many successes during what was a very difficult year, on closing he thanked the officials for their kind invitation and wished everyone a very successful 2013.
