Bertie's Under-10's hit a baker's dozen

BERTIE Peacock Youths Under-10's looked to be at their very best on Saturday as they hit 13 goals against Barn.

It was a really polished performance by the young lads with the first goal arriving with only two minutes on the clock as Caleb Wan slotted home from close range.

This was the start Peacocks were looking for and in a blistering 15 minute spell the boys scored another three goals, two more from Wan and another from Brennan.

Ruairi Boorman got in on the act and added a fourth after great play from Crawford down the wing before Wan made it five.

New singing Jamie Connor, who had been unlucky with a number of attempts on goal, opened his account with a goal just on the half time whistle.

Bertie's continued in the same vein after the restart with Ruairi Boorman grabbing his second of the game.

Barn to be fair battled for every ball but just couldn’t break down the water tight defence of Carr, Tennant, Vance and MacIlfatrick.

Caleb Wan produced a great chipped finish for number eight before Tiernan Boorman made it nine.

A lapse in concentration at the back let Barn pull back a consolation goal before further strikes from Wan, Tiernan Boorman and Jamie Connor completed the rout.
