Big win for Dalriada U13’s

Last Saturday Dalriada Under 13 rugby team hosted Cambridge House and continued their impressive start to the season with an emphatic win by 78 points to 5.

The home team went on the attack straight from the line off and took an early lead when impressive prop Griffin Phillipson crashed over in the corner.

Minutes later, Dalriada now further ahead, when centre Ross Fallows out sprinted the defence to score an unconverted try. The home team drew further ahead when Jacob Butcher finished up at the back of the scrum and forced his way over the line. Connor Creith added the conversion.

Two more tries quickly followed with Fallows getting his second score, converted by Creith and then, left wing, Lewis Henry made a superb kick before feeding right wing Matthew Scott, who sprinted clean to score the last try of the game.Flankers Nial Bradley and Jack Reid scored a try each with Connor Creith adding both conversions to make the half time score 43 – 0.

Coaches Mr. Mulligan and Mr. Skelton brought on all ten replacements at half-time, but the Dalriada boys still kept up their momentum and went further ahead when Stewart Moore made a clean break for a try, which he also converted. Robbie Doherty was next to score with Moore adding the conversion.

Further tries by Jack Reid and Connor Creith were followed by a consolation try for Cambridge House. However, Dalriada completed the scoring right on the final whistle when Xanders Wilmont rounded off an excellent performance to score a try which Creith converted.

This was another good performance by the Ballymoney boys and they look forward to next week’s game away to Antrim Grammar School.
