Big win in six pointer for Village

IN this Intermediate A relegation battle between Blackers Mill and Seapatrick both teams knew this was a must win game to avoid relegation from Intermediate A so both teams attacked each other’s goal in the opening 10 minutes.

The Village started treating the home team’s goal more with Darren McGrath hitting across the box on the 12 minute. After that Seapatrick kept pressing the Blackers Mill goal to break the dead lock.

Seapatrick went on the attack with Keith McVitty flicking the ball onto Ryan Graham who was denied a penalty shout by the referee on 17 minutes.

The Village had a chance on goal on the 24minute that was just wide off the Blackers Mill goal. 34minutes in Keith McVitty had a one on one chance with the home goalie but the home goalie was sharp off his line. Five minutes before half time the village had two back to back free kicks on the Blackers Mill box but failed to score from them both.

After the free kicks the Village kept on pressing with Blackers Mill box with several chances. This left the half all square.

In the first few minutes Seapatrick had two great chances on goal by hitting the post and just missing the net. The Village started the better of the two teams after the half time team talks.

On 50 minutes Ryan Graham was unlucky to get the breakthrough for Seapatrick when he hit the Blackers Mill post. Also Ryan Graham was unlucky to score again when he had his goal disallowed by the referee because he had handballed.

On the 60 minute Blackers Mill scored with a scrappy goal and took the lead. The Village hit the post on the 65 minute from Keith McVitty. After that chance Seapatrick got their equaliser through Ryan Graham on the 70 minute.

Seapatrick had a another chance cleared off the Blackers Mill line on the 75 minute when they were trying to get the winning goal.

But on 85 minutes the Village got their rewards through Darren McGrath when floated the ball into the top left hand corner of the Blackers Mill goal which lead to the team and the bench celebrating the goal with Darren.
