Bill at the double as Bann Threes held

Bill Malcolmson’s double earned Banbridge Threes a a 2-2 draw in Cookstown in their penultimate Junior Two match.

After a slow start, Bann got into their stride with Marshall and Brown pulling the strings in midfield and after being awarded their first penalty corner, a second phase effort was converted by Malcolmson at the back post after an excellent ball from Young. Bann continued to apply pressure and converted a second corner with a variation back to Malcolmson who had injected the corner. However, after the break, Cookstown got back into it. After a strong attack down the left, the ball was fired into the circle and excellently deflected past Adair.

Cookstown continued to press forward and Adair made a strong save from a Cookstown penalty corner. However, the hosts made no mistake with their next corner, equalising from the top of the circle.

Bann travel to Annadale next Tuesday (21st April)for their final game of the season.
