Birthday girl Sadie stars for Fourths

Dromore Ladies Fourths 2

DROMORE’S Fourths were ready for action as their game last Saturday was cancelled due to the bad weather.

From the whistle Dromore took control of the game and as a result they had their first penalty corner after 10 minutes of play. Unfortunately they were unable to score a goal.

Dromore kept up the pressure with Linda Cummins in midfield working tirelessly to feed the ball to the forwards; Lynne Nesbitt, Sadie Henry and Ashton Tolerton and as a result they gained four more corners but disappointingly Dromore were still unable to score.

After a half time talk from Andrea Wilson and Lynne Nesbitt Dromore were even more determined to score. So they raised their game with Sarah Percy in right mid passed a diagonal ball through Kilkeel’s mid field to Lynne who drove the ball down the right wing into the circle, passed the ball to Ashton on the penalty spot and scored.

Kilkeel were unable to break down Dromore’s solid defense of Andrea, Aimee, Alix and Beth and as a result the Dromore goalie, Emma, never touched the ball.

Dromore continued to dominate the game and with a fantastic run from Linda from the halfway line, who skilfully manovered the ball through Kilkeel’s defence, the ball found Gillian who slotted the ball into the back of the net.

Dame of the game went to Sadie Henry who constantly upset Kilkeel’s defence. Happy birthday to Sadie who was 21 on Saturday.

Thanks to Natasha Murray for her umpiring skills.
