Blitz success

ST Paul's Junior High School hosted the Annual 'Blitz' competition sponsored by Lurgan Credit Union.

In all 16 teams battled it out for the Shield and Plate Competitions and while St Francis' Primary School claimed the honours yet again, it was the defeated finalists, Ballymacricket Primary School, who proved to be the talking point of the competition.

Despite the small numbers on roll, they fought their way to the final, beating much vaunted opposition on the way.

In the Plate decider, it was St Anthony’s Primary School who won the competition - defeating St Teresa’s - and bringing a smile to the face of their coach and teacher, Mr Shane Scullion, as they won the competition for the first time.

The competition was organised and officiated by the Year 12 GCSE class who did an excellent job and to end the proceedings the winning schools and finalists were presented with their trophies by Mrs Fiona Clarke, manager of the sponsors, Lurgan Credit Union.
