Bobby's the big winner with a hat-trick at Lambeg GC

It’s only just June and already Bobby has three trophies safely stowed away.

He has already won the Winter League and the Lambeg Championship crowns and on Saturday, he added the Beechlawn Hotel sponsored competition with a magnificent 43 points.

Runner up was Ian Jefferson (12) with 42 points and in third, also with 42 points but beaten on the count-back, was Craig Tiffen (5). Craig had the best gross of 66.

WEDNESDAY HAT

The Wednesday Hat was won by Dale Hamilton (22) with 44 points and he continued his great form on Saturday with another 44 points to win the Laganview Driving Range stableford competition.

Andrew Smyth (20) came second with 43 points and Raymond Rodgers (12) finished third after losing on countback.

After a very tight game, Lambeg lost out 2-3 to Down Royal at Dunmurry.

The Lambeg lads have given themselves an opportunity to proceed into the next round after an outstanding performance at Warrenpoint on Sunday.

They won one game and halved two others to finish just 2-3 down. Team Captain David Hilland and Derek Porter played brilliantly to win two and one. Sam Thompson and Mervyn White won the last hole to clinch the half.

Chris Johnston and Graeme Steele also went down the last one down but won the 18th to clinch an important half.
