Following a good week of competition, 10 pairs progressed to battle it out.

The two preliminary matches were one-sided affairs with Alan McCord defeating David McRandal and Andy Jenkins beating Jonathon Millar.

The quarter-finals produced some cracking games as Barry Petticrew progressed against Brian Apsley, James Burns ousted Alan McCord, Chris Snoddy overcame clubmate Andy Jenkins and Tommy Bodles won a heavyweight encounter against Nigel Todd.

In the semi-finals the home pairing of father-and-son Tommy and Dale Bodles finished strongly against the Snoddy brothers to reach the decider. Cousins Petticrew joined them following an excellent win against Nicole and, dad, James Burns.

This season’s event had turned into a very festive family affair. Home advantage again proved decisive in the final as the Bodles dominated the early exchanges and despite some excellent play by their young opponents, were able to see the game out. Chairman Brian McGookin took great pleasure in presenting the prizes and trophies to the finalists and congratulated Chris Snoddy on another well-organised event.
