Boost for Lurgan club as Kathryn and Kerrie join Irish training camp

Two of Lurgan Ladies Hockey Club’s promising young players have been called up for the Ireland training camps.

Kathryn Edgar and Kerrie Burns will take part in Irish trials from November 8 and 15.

Ireland host the under 18s’ EuroHockey Championships in Cork from July 24-30.

Both girls recently helped Ulster win the interpros.

Lurgan Ladies are through to the Denman Ulster Shield semi-final and face Queens on November 22 at Stormont.

After a three week lay-off the Firsts are back in action on Saturday against Lisnagarvey Ladies with a 2.30pm start.

Lurgan are unbeaten and joint top with Belfast Harlequins with Garvey in fourth spot so a tight game is expected.
