Bowlers bereaved

THE local bowling fraternity has been saddened to learn of a number of recent bereavements concerning local bowlers.

Last week's Clough Rangers v West Church 'A' match was abandoned following news of the passing of Des Armstrong, father of Clough player Andrew and brother of Norman, who also plays for Clough.

Also last week, bowlers were shocked to learn of the sudden death of Cyril Scott. Cyril played for Old Bleach in the Ballymena and District League and was also well known in outdoor bowling circles in the Antrim area.
