BOWLS: Bowlers do their bit for charity

Coleraine Bowling Club hosted a successful Charity Pairs tournament on Saturday, raising a superb total of £1103 for ‘Friends of the Cancer Centre’.

On what was a glorious day, entries from all over the NIPBA turned out to enjoy the bowls and more importantly, raise money for charity. The trophy was won by Jimmy O’Neill (Coleraine) and Jim Martin (Ballymoney), with Noel Glasgow (Cookstown) and Jonny Calvin (Coleraine) finishing as runners-up.

Thanks must go to all the players who turned up to support the event, the Duncan family who helped organise the event and cook the food along with a number of Coleraine ladies and also to the Coleraine officials who helped run the tournament on the day. Another word of thanks must go to all the people and companies who sponsored prizes on the day, such as Kingsgate Meats, Lodge Hotel, Castlerock Golf Club to name just a few.
