BOWLS: It's last in, first win for The Glenn
The West Down Indoor Bowling League came its climax last season with the final of the Triples Cup and it brought rather unfamiliar winners.
The Glenn are a brand new club to join West Down this season but they’ve started as they mean to go on with a thrilling Cup win, seeing off Down Shoes in the decider 42-25 last Wednesday (6th April).

Hide AdPoyntzpass Royal British Legion was the venue for the final of the cup that was played for on a round robin basis.
Glenn got off to a great start against Down Shoes and at the half way stage of the final, the scores were Glenn 22 shots Down Shoes 10 shots.
Mat One, skipped by J McVeagh and K Sands, was a very tight game throughout with Down Shoes eventually winning their mat eight shots to six.
After 10 ends, the scores were Glenn 42 shots and Down Shoes 25 shots.

Hide AdAll at the league send huge congratulations to Glenn Bowling Club on their win.
The Triples Cup was presented by League Chairman, Terence McCartan to James O’Hare and the Runners-Up Shield to Michael Bunting.
The league also sent their thanks to the umpire for the evening Mervyn Wilson.
