BOWLS: Senior title race going to the wire

THE race for the NIPBA Senior League looks like being the closest ever with several teams still vying for the title.

Portrush kept up the challenge with a 69-shot hammering of Limavady on Saturday picking up all seven points in the process. Simon Colvin did the bulk of the damage with a 23-shot win over Adrian Barr.

Ballymoney bounced back from their league defeat at the hands of Coleraine as they too hit the ton as they too won by 69 shots at home to Ballycastle.

It’s on to cup action this Saturday with NIPBA representatives in both Junior and Senior finals. Ballymoney take on Dunbarton, who just edged out Portrush in the semi final. Letterkenny, in just their third season in the NIPBA take on Ballymena in the Junior final. Good luck to both teams.

Meanwhile, all members of the Provincial Towns Indoor Bowling Club are asked to attend a very special General Meeting of the Club this Thursday 23 August in the stadium at 8pm, to hear about the way forward for the Club, it is hoped all Members will make every effort to attend.
