The club have performed well under qualified coaches, Nigel Hagon, Gary Martin and Martin Mancini.

Due to the superb facilities, the club was recently selected to host the Ulster nine Counties Novice Champonships where over 65 bouts of boxing took place over three days.

Rochesters ABC is the first boxing club to be opened in the Waterside in over 30 years, and as a totally non profit making club, they rely solely on club membership fees and local sponsorship in order to purchase new equipment and maintain the excellent facilities.

One of the local sponsors of the club from day one has been Xtreme Fitness Gym, situated on Distillery Brae.

Together, Rochesters ABC and Xtreme Fitness will be running a deadlifting competition in the run up to Christmas.

The competition will run over three weeks in Xtreme Fitness Gym, commencing on Thursday November 26th. There will be five separate weight categories, three for males and two for females.

The winner of each category will be the person who completes the most repetitions, and trophies will be presented to the five winners at the end of the three weeks on Thursday 17 December.

Each attempt will cost £2 and all monies raised will go towards purchasing new equipment for Rochesters ABC.

It is envisaged that the competition will bring a great competitive and fun spirit to the gym in the run up to the festive season.

For further details on the competition, contact Xtreme Fitness Gym, or for details on joining the Rochesters Boxing Club, find them on Facebook or visit them at their premises on the second floor of the Ebrington Business Centre, just off the Glendermott Road.

The boxing club trains on Monday, Wednesday and Friday nights.
