Boxing clever for charity fight

Newtownabbey councillor John Scott presented Stewart Beattie of Bodyshots Kickboxing Gym with £100 in sponsorship for a charity boxing and kickboxing event set to be held on Saturday, November 15 at the Valley Leisure Centre.

Staff from Tesco Northcott and a team from the Newtownabbey area have been training for 10 weeks ahead of the big night.

They have been put through their paces as they prepare to step into the ring for this one-off event.

Funds raised will be split between two charities: Diabetes UK and Newtownabbey Down Syndrome Support Group.
