Braid ABC host open night this Friday

BRAID ABC are holding an open night and boxing show this Friday night, January 28.

This event comes on the back of the recent announcement of assisted funding from the Department of Social Development for the club.

“This is great news, as it will ensure the boys get top class equipment and continued support and assistance from Braid ABC,” said chairman John O’Rawe.

This is a true endorsement of the exemplary work that is undertaken each week within Braid ABC.

“Braid Boxers will be on competing on Friday night as part of our programme and we trust everyone will get behind our local boxers.

“It’s a chance for parents, youth groups and community representatives to come along and see the sterling work that is carried out each week with these young people.

“This will be the first of a few events lined up this year with the club and it allows potential boxers a chance to come inside the boxing club and see first hand what boxing has to offer,

“Many of our competitive boxers joined after attending this open night, it’s a great way to meet the coaches and ask questions regarding the fitness and training aspect of the sport.

“Braid ABC is a cross community boxing club, we draw boxers from all sections of the community, All our lads feel at home in this club and the club has been adopted by the young people from as far away as Loughgiel, Portglenone, Randalstown as well as from all over Ballymena, It’s a great place for these young people to meet, train together and relate to.

“Braid ABC has a team of committed coaches who give up their time each week to coach these young people helping them build confidence and character.

“I would urge anyone who has an interest in boxing or anyone who would just like to support the work to come along, it’s always a great night and everyone will be most welcome, There will be visiting boxers from across Co Antrim taking on a team of young boxers from Braid ABC,” added John.
