Frampton faces tough Mexican Gonzalez Jr at the weekend, but he would like to face Bury fighter Quigg next – if the Joe Gallagher fighter defeats Kiko Martinez on Saturday night.

“I hope the fight can get made with Quigg but you have to realise who is number 1.

“They know what we want and it’s completely fair. If they want to bend a bit, then it can get done –but he has priced himself out of it a bit.

“Quigg needs to know who the boss is. I would like it to be done before the end of the year.”

But Frampton says he is totally focused on Saturday night and he is not concerned about the welcome he will receive in El Paso.

“I think I’ll feed off the atmosphere. Of course I’m expecting a few boos but when I silence the crowd they’ll know I’ve got the better of their man. I am looking forward to making my debut in the United States.”
