Walker, who trains at Canal Boxing Academy, won in style by seeing off Colin O’Donovan of Touger, 3-0 in the semi final.

That set up a mouth-watering final with Myles Casey of St Frances, who was previously the 52 kilo champion.

Casey, going into the contest seemed confident, but once the bell went there was only going to be one winner.

Walker showed great movement, ensuring his opponent’s punches didn’t land, whilst delivering fine hits.

Walker had just two days off before he was back on the plane to Rostov, Russia. The Canal boxer didn’t drop a point in three contests, as he fought Russia twice and also against Belarus.
