Karol dominated his opponent from the start and landed straight combinations from the centre of the ring and as the fight progressed Karol mixed it up landing body and head shots.

McDonagh dug in though and had to draw on all his experience to survive as his 18 year old opponent poured it on.

The bout finished 30 27 on all judge cards leaving Karol the new Champion and youngest that Ballymoney has ever produced.

Paul Donnelly had mixed fortunes this week he won a unanimous decision in his quarter final against Anthony Brady only to lose a very close semi against a very tough Steven Montgomery from Canal.

It was a fantastic week for the Scorpion Boxing Club once again and Karol and Paul have been selected to represent County Antrim in a Multi Nation tournament in Portugal later this month.
