Canal Boxing Academy are celebrating after winning three more titles recently after a great performance from Chrisy (the sledgehammer) Armstrong, Jack (Fernando) Moore and the club’s much travelled International star Sean (the Machine) Montgomery.

Sean was boxing in Spain, as part of the Co. Antrim select squad at 64kg, won his bout with little in his hand.

He seems to enjoy the Spanish surroundings as he came away with Gold when Canal Boxing Academy visited Alicante a few weeks ago. Well done Sean.

Back home, the Dockers Social Club was packed to the rafters as Chrisy Armstrong produced a stunning performance to take Gold in the Intermediate Championships at 67kg against Mitchell McCormick from Abbey Boxing Club. Not to be out done by his stable mate, Jack Moore landed some fantastic uppercuts to win all three rounds of his fight, showing sheer guts and determination to beat 71kg Braid Boxer Chris Richmond.

Well done to the unsung heroes of Canal Boxing Academy, as the coaching staff on a daily basis give their time and dedication to bring these young stars to a level where their only colour is Gold.
