Up first was Mosa at 64kg. He had a semi final to get past. As the bell went, Mosa’s opponent came rushing out and immediately went on the attack, throwing two vicious hooks, which Mosa dodged brilliantly, while landing a well timed jab.

As his man moved in for another attack, Mosa saw his chance and landed a lovely one, two combo. As his man tried to attack, Mosa hit him with a four punch combo ending with a super right hand that sent his man backwards onto the ropes. The ref jumped in and gave him a standing count.

When the fight was restarted Mosa’s man went on the defence as Mosa closed him down and finished him off with another four punch combo. And so Mosa went onto the final.

In Mosa’s final the bell sounded and the two fighters made their way to the centre of the ring.

Mosa opponent threw a jab, which Mosa easily blocked and countered with a double jab and a right hand, followed by a one, two combo, which had his man reeling backwards.

As the ref jumped in to give a standing count his corner threw the towel in, ending the fight, making Mosa the County Antrim Intermediate Champion.

Next up was Dean at 75kg, who was fighting in his first competition.

As the bell went for Dean’s final, his man came out at pace and went for a left hook, which Dean blocked and hit back with a powerful jab.

As the round went on Dean dominated with his jab, as he moved well his man could not get close.

In the second round Dean’s man came out quick and got a few punches in but Dean adjusted well and used his jab to control the fight while moving in and out, landing some nice shots to the head and body.

In the final round Dean’s man came out knowing he was losing and tried to up his game by trying to pin Dean down, throwing a volley of punches, which pushed Dean back. Dean defended well and moved to evade and real danger.

After that his opponent was tired and Dean began to pick him off with his jab and nice right hands as the bell sounded for the end of the fight.

The two boxers were given a big round of applause by the crowd as Dean’s hand was raised to become the County Antrim Intermediate Champion.

A fantastic result for both Mosa and Dean and Lisburn Boxing Club would like to congratulate them both for a great achievement.
