Cahir defeated the tough Ronan O’Reilly from the St John Bosco club in Newry to claim the Boy 2 39 KG division in what was a hard fought contest.

Head Coach Sean Devenney was delighted for his young boxer.

“Cahir boxed very well in the final against a tough, strong opponent in Ronan O’Reilly, we’d done our homework before the contest and we knew he was going to put Cahir under pressure but Cahir stuck to the game plan and boxed very well off the back foot to get the win.

“Cahir has had an excellent season so far having claimed several titles along the way including Derry, Donegal, Northwest, and an Ulster 9 Counties Title so it’s testament to the hard work and dedication he’s shown over the past few months.”

Oran Carton also boxed at the Ulster finals but was very unlucky to lose out in his contest.

He has also had an excellent season to date.
