Brackaville extend leadin Torrent Darts League

The A-League resumed again this past weekend after the Christmas break and with the Central A having a bye it was Brackaville’s chance to extend their lead at the top.

Brackaville 4-0 Ceili House

So it was first versus third as the Ceili House travelled up Barrack Street to Brackaville. After defeating the Central the Ceili House were out to put a dent in Brackaville’s title hopes as well. Brackaville were out to extend their lead at the top and wrap up the league early.

Brackaville got the match underway with Sean Gillis (100,140) winning 3-0 in the first game. The Ceili House quickly levelled the match as Brian O’Hagan (2x100,101,137) won the second game 3-1. Each game was as hard fought as the next but unfortunately for the Ceili House from here on in it was all Brackaville. Declan Gillis ( 4x100,119,125,140) gave Brackaville the lead again as he picked up a 3-2 win in the third game of the night. Then Ronan McMahon (4x100,121,138) extended the lead with a 3-0 win in the fourth. That lead was added to with F.McNamee (3x100,101,121,140) winning 3-1 and J.P McHugh winning 3-0 to secure the singles points for Brackaville.

Into the doubles and the Ceili House took the early lead with S.Hughes/R.Hill winning 2-1 in the first game. Brackaville quickly hit back with R.McMahon/F.McNamee winning 2-0 in the second game. The doubles were then wrapped up as the partnership of D.Gillis/M.Quinn checked out 110 to win 2-0 and secure the doubles points and match win for Brackaville.

Daly’s A 4-0 McCausland’s A

Two teams at two different sides of the league table. McCausland’s travelled into Daly’s on the mission to win points to get them of the foot of the table. Daly’s however, currently in fourth were on a mission to break into the top three.

The home side got the match started with Sean McGurgan (3x100,135,4x140) winning the first 3-2. The lead was extended with Luke McBride (3x100,2x140,180) winning 3-1 in the second game. McCausland’s then pulled one back and in great style with Aidan Kavanagh ( 6x100,2x120) producing a 17 dart leg on his way to a 3-1 win. That seemed to anger Daly’s thought as they quickly extended their two game lead with Pat McGurgan (4x100) checking out 122 on his way to a 3-0 win. Then the home side secured the points as Damien Hamilton (5x100,121,137,2x140) won 3-1 in the fifth game. McCausland’s did restore some pride however as Alex Toner (5x100) secured a 3-1 win in the final singles game.

So into the doubles and McCausland’s took the early lead with A.Toner/K.McCausland winning 2-1. However that was it for McCausland’s as it was all Daly’s after that as L.McBride/S.McGurgan won 2-0, before T.Conlon/S.McKenna won 2-1 to secured the doubles and match points for Daly’s.
