Bridges of Hope Cycle

Ballymoney Cycling Club are helping to raise funds for the Community Rescue Service (Bush Section) with a special event this Saturday.

The Bridges of Hope Community Cycle Challenges take place again this year in memory of Stranocum lad James Elliott who tragically drowned in 2009.

Last year’s event attracted participants from across the province with over 170 people taking part.

Ballymoney Cycling Club are again promoting the event with four courses for everyone to get involved.

There is the 3.5 mile route for all the family, 9 miles for the healthy option, 22 miles for all leisure cyclists and the new distance of 55 miles crossing almost all the bridges of the River Bush right up to its source at Altnahinch and back down to the crossing at Bushmills.

The event starts at Stranocum’s Main Street from 11am and there will be refreshments provided at the finish for everyone.
